Project Life - Week 7

Still hangin in here..... barely :)

Sunday, Feb 14
Family dinner at my parents new house in AZ.

Monday, Feb 15
Very cool to have a golf course in your backyard... Daddy forgot his shoes so he drove the golf cart back to the house to get them. The kids ran out and jumped in for a ride.

Tuesday, Feb 16
My friend Kim and her kids came by for a visit, and some splashing around in the pool.  The kids hit it off immediately, and had a blast playing together.  Kim and I had a nice time catching up.  We hadn't seen each other for about 15 years.

Wednesday, Feb 17
We spent the day at the Phoenix Zoo with my parents, and met up with our friends from SJ who were also on vacation.  We had such an awesome time!  I got so many great pictures of the kids and the animals, I couldn't pick just one so I finally quit stressing about it and went with the family photo. We actually don't have many of these since I'm usually the one behind the camera.

Thursday, Feb 18
At the neighborhood park for a nice picnic lunch.  The girls played on the playground, while the boys played baseball. Love this Arizona weather!

Friday, Feb 19
My parents winter home in Arizona.

Saturday, Feb 20
My dad and hubby went golfing for the day so the kids and I drove to Phoenix to visit my friend Kim. The kids played together for hours. When her husband came home he took the boys to the park for a quick baseball practice, which gave Kim and I some quiet time to just hang out, catch up, and talk about parenting.  Oh... how times have changed!

Project Life - Week 6

OMGosh.... I guess I should have knocked on wood or something after my last post. I am sooooo behind, but I'm not giving up yet :) Been busy over the past 6 weeks.... family vacation to AZ, got my cast off and started walking again (although very slow & limpy), little league started (I'm team parent, & my husband is coach), back to working in the classroom on Fridays, and trying to catch up with 6 months worth of cleaning, organizing, and projects. Oh, and lets not forget hitting the gym to start working off the 13 lbs I gained! Keeping up with daily photos, especially posting them is going to be tricky. It was MUCH easier to do from bed ;) Better get started.....

Sunday, Feb 7
Drove for the first time, a whole mile, to my lil brother's to hang out for the first half of the Superbowl. Met up with my family at the Bandanza's for the second half.

Monday, Feb 8
Chase lost his 2nd top tooth! When he smiles just a little, he looks like a Vampire. Go Team Chase!!

Tuesday, Feb 9
Kim & the boys came by, and gave us this super yummy plant (cookies, pudding, and cream) to have for dessert. No occasion... they are just fantastic neighbors, and friends =) Thanks Andersons!!

Wednesday, Feb 10
I watched the girls after school today. These cousins have sooo much fun together! Here they are finishing up some freshly baked chocolate chip cookies, and milk.

Thursday, Feb 11
It's supposed to be finger painting.... not hand painting.

Friday, Feb 12
My Valentine from Chloe :D

Sat, Feb 13
Chloe pushing our bags through the airport. Our first family vacation on an airplane.

Heading to the gate....

So... at our monthly Moms Night Out dinner I overheard one of the moms saying she was going to AZ for February break. I told her we were going too. She was leaving on the 13th.. so were we. We were taking Southwest.. so was she. They were leaving at 11:45... OMGosh... So were we! The kids had so much fun together, walking through the airport, going through security, and sitting next to each other on the plane. It was so cute to listen to their conversation as the plane took off, and the people & buildings on the ground looked like ants. What a great way for Chase to get over his fear of flying.

Project Life - Week 5

Whoo
Hoo! I've stuck with it for a month! I hope I can keep this up =)

Sunday, Jan 31
It's time to say goodbye to the train table.... I'm so torn about this. On one hand, I'm sooo ready to get this out of my house, but on the other, it means my baby boy is growing up. Chase was so excited when he got this from Santa on Christmas morning when he was 2, and has played with it often until about a year ago. Last weekend he said "Daddy... I'm ready to get rid of my train table, it's just a junk collector now," so Daddy took it apart. Mitchi had to have one last nap on it as it made it's way out to the garage. Sniff, sniff...

Monday, Feb 1
Time to take down the Christmas Cards.... When do most people take theirs down? I usually leave mine up through January. I see them as a celebration of the holidays & the new year! I just love walking past them, and seeing the smiling faces of my friends kids. Now what to do with them? I might try making a collage similar to Ali's.

Tuesday, Feb 2
I was totally craving vegetables today so I made myself a yummy veggie & tofu stir fry for lunch. Since I made so much, we added some rotisserie chicken, and served it up for dinner too. Nobody would even TRY my tofu...

Wednesday, Feb 3
Daddy wanted me to hem Chase's baseball pants so he opened my new sewing machine, read the directions, and set it all up for me. He even went to Beverly's and bought matching thread, and threaded a new bobbin. Very impressive....

Thursday, Feb 4
Chase's 100th day celebration at school! He looked so cute walking in the door wearing this hat. I'm so bummed that I'm missing so many school activities.

Friday, Feb 5
Chloe was forced to give up her naps last year at the age of 2 1/2 due to Chase's pm Kindergarten schedule. Unfortunately this year's schedule is no better. She's home by 12:45, his pick up's at 2:10. On most days she ends up passing out on the couch around 5:00 or 6:00 for a late nap.

Saturday, Feb 6
The Anderson's stopped by today for a visit, and to drop off a yummy dirt pudding dessert (I'll post the picture next week). The boys had fun playing stomp rocket, but lost them all to the roof!

Project Life - Week 4

sunday, jan 24
yeah! we survived our first sleepover. banana, chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast. yummo! chase & j got along so well, he stayed through lunch.

monday, jan 25
made pasta for dinner tonight. sausage ravioli with prego for daddy, cheese ravioli with butter and parmesan for the kids, and spinach and cheese ravioli with a lite alfredo sauce mixed with spinach and tomatoes for me. it would be so nice to make just one.

tuesday, jan 26
catching air with the the mini board ramp! check out the flying cars in the left of the photo.

wednesday, jan 27
so close.... so close, but yet so far... the kids took freckles out for a spin, and mitchi had fun chasing him around the house. they thought it was funny when he would get stuck between the train tracks. chase set up the track all by himself to keep chloe from bugging him while he raced hotwheels on the other side of the room. pretty smart thinking :)

thursday, jan 28
can you say bed head? poor little chloe got my hair. she stayed home sick this week so this was after 2 mornings of not brushing out her tangles. I wish she would have gotten her daddy's thick hair.

friday, jan 29
chloe asked me to draw a bow like the hello kitty's on her new thermos. i'm a horrible artist, but my bow wasn't half bad. then she surprised me with the whole kitty to hang on my bedroom wall.

saturday, jan 30 oba came for the weekend again. she and chase spent hours together making paper cranes. he wanted to hang them over the island because they're beautiful, and he wanted me to be able to look at them.

Project Life - Week 3

January 17-23

Sunday, Jan 17
Oba came to SJ today to take Chase to Toys-R-Us for his birthday. She surprised us with balloons for "both" kids! Chase, the lucky boy, got 2 Gormitis, a wii game, and a gumball machine, and since Chloe was such a good girl in the store, Oba got her a few new Littlest Petshop animals.

Monday, Jan 18
Chase asked for mac & cheese, and hot dogs for dinner tonight. I decided to take a chance, and try something different so I cut up the hot dogs and sauteed them the way my mom used to when I was little. He LOVED them! ...even Chloe ate em :)

Tuesday, Jan 19
Chloe... dressed in her summer clothes prepared a lovely picnic for us. We had pizza as an appetizer, then made beef & vegetable stew in her crock pot for dinner. I drank coffee... she had tea. For dessert we had blueberry & strawberry pie. Yummm.....

Wednesday, Jan 20
Rain again!! We've had about 2 weeks or so of steady rain, wind, flooding, thunderstorms, and even a tornado warning.... in California! Crazy!!

Thursday, Jan 21
About a year ago Auntie Sunhui made Chloe an adorable pink crocheted purse that she absolutely loves. Today we received a surprise in the mail... a matching hat, and scarf. Soooo cute!

Friday, Jan 22
Chloe leaving for school. I've been taking pictures of her every morning to make a scrapbook page titled "Morning Chlo". I stole the idea from a friend who posts daily pictures of his new English Bulldog pup Stewie on Facebook called "Morning Stew".

Saturday, Jan 23
Chase's 7th birthday party! A "faux" sleepover. 5 boys, 1 girl. The kids came in PJ's, and brought their sleeping bags, pillows and a favorite stuffed animal. They played wii, made mini pizza's for dinner, each wrote and illustrated one page to contribute to a book titled "The adventures of Chase & his friends", which we scanned, and printed for each child to take home, they played one long game of twister, more wii, had cake and ice cream, opened presents, then snuggled down in their sleeping bags for a movie and popcorn. Parents came to collect them around 10:00. One boy stayed the night... Our very first sleepover.

Project Life - Week 2

Week 2 - better late than never....

Jan 10 - Chloe practicing her letters before bed. She's FINALLY showing an interest in letters & numbers.

Jan 11 - The last night of my sleeping 6 year old. I can't believe my baby will be 7 tomorrow.

Jan 12 - Chase's 7th Birthday!! We had my brothers, and nieces over for a family birthday dinner. We ate tacos, had fun playing wii, assembling and playing Chase's new water racetrack with cars that change color, and Skyping in Amma & Afi to the party. His friends party, a "faux" sleepover will be on Sat, Jan 23rd.

Jan 13 - Chloe and I stuffed her doll & brown bear with the doll making kit she got for Christmas from Amma & Afi.

Jan 14 - Assembling my album. Yay! I got my week one pictures back, and finally started to assemble my album. It probably would have been much easier at the kitchen table, but I needed to elevate my foot, and it gave me a chance to catch up on some Tivo'd shows at the same time. Worked great till Chloe rolled over ;) I found I had a hard time just randomly inserting the cards, I think I prefer them to match a little. Once I started stressing about it, I stopped. I think I'm going to put in the cards as I go for a while, and see how that works.

Jan 15 - Learning Photoshop.... Downloaded Ali's brushes, and figured out how to use them.

Jan 16 - Daddy got up bright and early Saturday morning to scout the A & AA little league tryouts. Chloe & I got to sleep in till 10:00 =)

Jan 16 (2) - Chloe absolutely LOVES dinosaurs right now. Her main Christmas present was a set of 7 dino's that live in a rock. These are her old favorites. The dino's in the back, on the box, are sticking their heads into holes in the ice hoping to catch fish for dinner.
